About Us

The Dream: To share our passion and love for the game. "Fun first, competition second" is our motto because we believe that volleyball is about havin' a blast, playing in the great AZ outdoors and kickin' back with friends.
Back in the day, we played at good ol' MinderBinders (aka the Big Red Barn) and became addicted. After that was shut down, we played at Pranksters II & The Pointe South Mountain several nights a week.

With the announcement of the Pointe volleyball court getting bulldozed, we decided to start up a league of our own, catering to the East Valley. In February 2008, The Sand Club was born: one Tuesday night league consisting of 8 teams, 32 players. Two years later, we have grown to over 8 leagues and over 500 players. The people that we've met on the court have become family. We consider ourselves the luckiest people on the planet to be doing what we love with the people we love!

The Mission: The Sand Club is a volleyball organization that is dedicated to providing organized beach volleyball leagues and volleyball tournaments on maintained courts, while giving back to the community by donating proceeds from tournaments to worthy causes.

The Sand Club Culture: The Sand Club welcomes players of all levels, beginner to competitive players, whether you have a team or are looking for a team. We help introduce teams/players to the volleyball community in the East Valley. The Sand Club encourages "tailgating tendencies" and sharing a passion for volleyball. Our leagues echo the sounds of music and good times - including rad 80's hairband tunes :) The Sand Club "DIGGS" our Champions by posting on Facebook to demonstrate how proud we are to have such a dynamic volleyball culture.

Goals: The Sand Club's goal is to offer an internet-savvy form of communication between players with Facebook Events and live broadcasts on Twitter. In 2012, we hope to grow our junior volleyball leagues (ages 10-18) and junior volleyball tournaments in the East Valley and offer even more men's and women's sand volleyball leagues and volleyball tournaments.

The Player's Club: We consider The Sand Club, a Player's Club. We are eager to hear feedback from the players to help guide us in how we run the leagues. We encourage any and all players to email, call 480.560.5090, or post comments on our Facebook Group page with concerns you would like to have addressed by the owners or a committee of players.
